Ed

This morning Rod was on the blog of one of the presenters from Photoshop World www.joemcnally.com/blog and this is what we found:
He apparently picked a few people from the audience to take their picture in teaching a specific technique and he picked Rod. I love these pictures. They really shows his personality. Interestingly, he shot them using a white background. He doesnt photoshop the background to be black, its the technique he is teaching. Look at his web site for more info-- It was an early October entry. Also notice the difference in the light on his face if he has the white shirt on or the black jacket. This photographer shoots for National Geographic and other notable companies. But now he has captured my Edward. What a guy..... And for anyone who missed the last blog entry- This is one reason why little O reminds us of Big E.

30 Years of Sweet Memories

The kids spurred a Sunday Lunch at our house today to give Rod and I our anniversary present. They created a bound and printed book recreating many of our life experiences starring seven of our most favorite little people in the world. The quality of my reproductions of a few of the pages are pretty poor but I can tell you that the tears of joy and love for the hours of work that this little project created paid off. Rod and I are so grateful to our daughters -- all 4 of them and sons-- all 4 of them for their part. And for those wondering where Oliver might have got some of his dark hair from-- this picture could provide some of the answer. We took some other fun pictures tonight-- but I will save those for another post. Just one more note-- These are only a few of the pages and blogger makes it hard to post them in order.

Rod and I traveled to Las Vegas last weekend. Rod attends the Photoshop Convention at Mandalay and I play and relax. We also celebrated our 30th anniversary! Here are some of the highlights of our weekend. The convention is held at Mandalay Bay. The last 2 years I have twisted Rod's arm to go with him and stay at this hotel. It is amazing! I love the beds. I love the feather ticking on top of the mattress and the multiple cotton sheets. I sleep so well at this hotel. Better then pretty much anywhere I have slept. The last two nights we stayed at South Point- a regular hotel/ casino at the end of the strip but cheaper on the weekend. I took a day to play with my friend from babyhood- Mitzi. We attended a taping of Lets Make a Deal-- episode #19 for any of you watching at home. Let me know if you see it. You will see Mitzi and maybe me... Its always great to spend time with Mitzi. We have one of those rare friendships, borne one day apart and throughout our lives have always kept the connection. One of the activities they did at Photoshop was create these little dolls. They were supposed to be the admit ticket to an after hours party. It was a lot of fun to just relax and hang out. I did check out all of the local outlet malls and walked through my favorite resorts such as The Bellagio, The Forum Shops at Ceasars Palace et..... And some of the at displays. Not to mention the worlds biggest choclate fountain. It would be better of we could sample it But it was beautiful!!
I LOVE the pool at Mandalay Bay. Or should I say poolssss. The wave pool has a sand beach but I dont like the grit so I go to one of the other pools. The hot tub could be warmer. One night we had a wonderful meal at one of the beautiful restraunts at Mandalay but one of our favorite meals was at The Haufbrau House. Great German food and some very entertaining drunk fest to watch!! We will go back there. On Sunday Rod and I drove to Hoover Dam. It was fun. I think I was there when I was maybe 10. Check out the picture of the harbor patrol boat that I posted. How do you think they access that? One of my favorite parts was sharing a night with Rod at a showcase of the photographer instructors at the convention as they each spent about 10 minutes and showcased some of their work and talked about their inspirations. I was able to meet one of them after as well. It was very inspiring. Well, off to celebrate the anniversary one more time as our kids are here to cook us Sunday dinner. I love my hisband and I love my family. What a great 30 years this has been.
